The additiona10.18 acres disturbance aze from pre-existing digging and ATV's on the
mining site.
Reclamation Accomplished to Date:
All of the new prospects and production excavations opened during 2005 were filled,
reseeded, and temporarily reclaimed for a total of about 0.38 new acres. The excavations
were filled, re-contoured and shaped, reseeded, and planted with trees. Sixty mixed
ponderosa and Douglas fir were planted on the prospects opened this season and on the
lower portion of Site B.
Additionally, 60 trees, mixed ponderosa and Douglas fir, and 30 wax currant and 30
meadow rose were planted on Site A in early May.
The field checks in October showed all reseeded areas to be well established and
growing. Over 90% of the trees have survived. Only 10% of the shrubs survived.
A total of 0.91 acres have been reclaimed of which 0.51 acres has 50% or better
established growth.
Precedinlr Year. 2004. Reclamation:
Approximately 0.5 acres were reclaimed during 2004. All of Site A plus surrounding
pre-existing-trenchesand pits were filled,-graded; re-contoured, and reseeded_ Some
burnt timber from the Hayman fire was felled and trenched in across slope to retard
erosion. A second seeding was accomplished after torrential rains washed away some
seed. Field checks in October showed all reseeded areas to be well established and
growing.
Proposed 2006 Operations:
Operations using a John Deere 200 track hoe are scheduled for early June through July on
the Smoky Hawk/Elk Horn claims at Site B and D. We plan to complete Site B and
explore Site D. We will leave a working face open on Site D if minerals are encountered,
for mineral extraction.
Prospecting will continue per Colorado prospecting permit, P-2003-014 at the following
prospect sites: 005, 006, 007, 008, 009, 010, and 019, time permitting.
Site visits, including mineral extraction, reclamation, and claim maintenance will be
continued throughout the season.
Anticipated 2006 Disturbances:
An area of about 0.35 acres will be disturbed at Sites B and D. Additionally, up to 0.09
acres will be disturbed to accomplish prospecting. Disturbances will include the machine
