Box 1430 <br />Paliaatla, Coloratlo 81528 <br />(303)484-7951 <br />Fax (303)484-7181 <br />Powderborn Coal Company owns and operates the Roadside North and South Portals located in Debeque <br />Canyon approximately 3tk miles northeast of Palisade, Colorado. Operation of the mine is conducted in <br />accordance welt provisioas of our Mining and Reclamation Permit NO. C-81-041 and in accordance with Hiles <br />set ford[ in the Reguhtdons of the Colorado Mine Land Reclamation Division. The initial approval date of this <br />permit was January 3, 1983, and has subsequently been renewed in 1988 and 1993. <br />This notice is to confirm and update previous information regazding underground mining under portions of <br />your property. <br />Mittigg location- Towaship I1 South, Rattge 98 West, 6th P.M. Section 02: A parcel of land located <br />in I.ot 02. <br />2. Date of mining activities that could cause subsidence and affect speci5c structures -Mining has <br />occurred under property idcnufied as currently being owned by you during a period from 1978 through <br />May 1981. Subsidence has been detected an your surface. Continued subsidence affects are possible <br />due to the nature of underground tninigg. <br />Measures taken to prevent or control adverse surface affects -The roof control practice of leaving <br />partial pillars has ~++~~+mi~ed the surface affects of subsidence. There were no (mown structures <br />within the area listed in Item 1 that required any greater protection at the tithe of mining. Protection <br />of your house and out buildings will be a major consideration for future [Wining under this property. <br />Further information on detail of mining locations and times aze available at the mine site.
