RULE 2.41(3): THE LOCATION AND NUMBER OF ACRES IN THE VARIOUS STAGES OF
RECLAMATION (BACRFILLED, GRADED, TOPSOIL REPLACED, REVEGETATED).
Over the past few years a considerable amount of land has been
placed into a reclamation status, The acreage breakdowns are as
follows:
AREA ACREAGE STATUS
ACCESS ROAD (BELOW OFFICE) 3.0
ACCESS ROAD (ABOVE OFFICE) 1.25
ORIGINAL ACCESS ROAD 2.0
ABANDONED ROAD 2,5
OFFICE SITE 3.0
TRACT WDT 2,0
TOPSOIL STOCKPILES 1.75
SLOPE NORTH OF SHOP 3.0
4th YEAR REVEGETATION.
2nd YEAR REVEGETATION.
3rd YEAR REVEGETATION.
3rd YEAR REVEGETATION.
3rd YEAR REVEGETATION.
3rd YEAR REVEGETATION.
2nd YEAR TEMP. REVEL.
SEEDED 1986.
18.50
These figures do not include those areas where mining has been
completed and the benching established, but not seeded. Approximately
25 additional acres of actual surface would be found in that category.
As a result, a total of about 45 acres would be in some kind of
reclamation status. About 40 to 45 percent of that would be in a
revegetation status.
RULE 2.41(4): THE SPECIES OF VEGETATION PLANTED, THE LOCATIONS AND
APPROXIMATE DATES OF PLANTING.
The only area seeded in 1986 was the slope behind the Pikeview
Shop. This area was seeded on March 27, 1986. The seed mixture used
was:
SPECIES
PUBESCENT WHEATGRASS
WESTERN WHEATGRASS
RUSSIAN WILDRYE
BLUE GRAMA
FAIRWAY CRESTED WHEATGRASS
LITTLE BLUESTEM
YELLOW SWEETCLOVER
RATE (LBS./ACRE PLS - BROADCAST)
4.0
4.0
3.0
1.0
2.0
2.0
0.5
RULE 2,41(5): THE TYPE AND APPROXIMATE QUANTITY OF FERTILIZERS, ORGANIC
MATERIAL, OR SOIL CONDITIONERS USED AND LOCATION OF USE.
The soil which was applied to this slope was of good quality and no
fertilizers were applied. Also, being a south-facing slope and a rather
dry environment, it is doubtful fertilizer would have much benefit.
Page 2 of 4 Permit 77-211 Pikeview Quarry 1986 Annual Report
