CASTLE CONCRETE COMPANY'S MINED LAND RECLAMATION 1986 ANNUAL REPORT FOR: PIREVIEW UARRY PERMIT NUMBER: 77-211 DATE OF INSPECTION FOR DATA IN REPORT: April 28, 1986 SUMMARY: Mining proceeded southward from the Tract AA area of the last few years to the Tract AB area where it will primarily remain for many years to come. The slope reduction (TR#5) was completed behind the Pikeview Shop and was seeded. Unfortuantely, a severe lack of precipitation is threatening to kill the growth that has been established. Older revegetation areas are continuing to show considerable strength and expansion. RULE 2.41(1): LOCATION AND NUMBER OF ACRES AFFECTED DURING THAT YEAR. The annual report map shows the various areas where activity occurred in the last year. Mining occurred over an area of about 6 to 8 acres. Most of the mining occurred on the Tract AA/AB boundary and in the upper portions of Tract AB. No mining was initiated in Tract AC, although some preparation work was done. The area north of the Pikeview Shop was completely excavated as approved in Technical Revision #5. Most of this material was blended with other products or sold as roadbase to Oak Valley Ranch, Castle Concrete's neighbor to the east. This work produced an excellent area with a topsoiled slope and a large level area near the shop. When the fill slope to the south of the shop is regraded this year, this additional level area will come into use as a replacement for what is lost as a result of the slope grading to the south of the shop. RULE 2.41(2): LOCATIONS AND NUMBER OF ACRES RECLAIMED FOR THAT YEAR. The only area that was placed into a reclamation status this year was the slope to the north of the Pikeview Shop. No other areas were placed in a reclamation status. This area north of the Pikeview Shop covers about 3 acres, after accounting for slope gradient.
