• April 13, 1991
Page 5
ROATCAP CREEK
COLLWIAL WELLS
Five colluvial wells are completed in Roatcap Creek colluvium in
drainage bottom. An additional colluvial well is completed in the
colluvium/fill above the Orchard Valley West Mine portal. Plots of
the water levels are presented on Figures 22 through 26 and Figure
54 and a plot of the field conductivity is presented on Figure 27.
Summaries of the of the water quality data for the five wells in
the drainage bottoms are presented on Tables 42 through 51.
• All of the wells are in the East Roatcap Creek watershed. The
wells show a general trend of increasing conductivity from upstream
to downstream. The water levels have been declining recently due
to the low runoff in 1988 through 1990. The water levels show
seasonal variability with levels falling during the late summer and
rising during the winter and spring. No impacts related to mining
activity were observed.
SURFACE WATER
Four ponds, two springs, and four surface water stations are
monitored in the Roatcap Creek watershed. Summaries and plots of
• the data are presented for the four surface water station and two
ponds. Summaries of the discharges from all the ponds and springs
