ENERGY FUELS COAL, INC.
SOUTIINIELD MINE
P.O. BOX 449
FLORENCE, COLORADO 81226
RECEIVED
MAR 3 0 1995
Division of ~winerais 8 Geology
Date of Inspection: March 17, 1995
Waste Bank Identification: Primary Refuse Disposal Area
Waste Bank Location: Sec. 30, T20S, R69W, 6th P.M.
Fremont County, Colorado
Comments: The coal processing waste bank was visually inspected and found to be in general
compliance with the CMLRD approved Reconstruction Plan for the Coal Processing Waste
Bank. The topsoiled and planted areas of the waste bank exhibit good plant growth. Base azea
expansion has been completed for the advancing side (West) of the waste bank. Top soil from
the expansion area has been placed in temporary stockpiles located on top of the waste
bank. The recently reclaimed and top soiled areas of the Northwest and Soutltwest comets of the
waste bank were seeded and mulched in January.
Recommendations: Variation in the characteristics of the coarse and fine refuse materials aze to
be expected, depending on changes in the mine geology and mining practices. The fine material
should be sampled and tested to identify an acceptable range of plasticity characteristics. When
high clay content material is encountered in the mining operations, it should be sampled and
compazed with this range, with selective placement of high plasticity materials in the pile to
avoid adverse stability impacts. ,
by: David J.
