<br />2.8 TIE WIRE AND WIRE CLAMPS <br />' A. Tire wire and wire clamps shall be 12-1/2-gauge, galvanized wire conforming to the <br />requirements of ASTM A 116. <br />2.9 BARBED WIRE <br />A. Galvanized barbed wire, two-strand with four-point barbs spaced at intervals not <br />exceeding 5 inches. The barbed wire shall be 12-1/2-gauge standard strength wire <br />conforming to ASTM A 121. Barbs shall be of 14-gauge galvanized wire and may be <br />either round or half-round style. <br />' PART 3 EXECUTION <br />3.1 GF.NFRAT. <br />A. Subcontractor shall remove and replace existing fence from Site G. Subcontractor shall <br />reuse all existing fence material that is in a condition acceptable to the RESIDENT <br />PROJECT REPRESENTATIVE. <br />3.2 POST INSTALLATION <br />A. Set all wood posts and all metal end posts, metal gate posts, metal corner posts, <br />intermediate metal end posts, and the lower end of all metal post braces in concrete. <br />Holes for end and corner posts shall have a minimum diameter of 10 inches and a <br />', minimum depth of 2 feet below fmished grade. Holes for gate posts shall have a <br />minimum diameter of 10 inches and a minimum depth of 3 feet below fmished grade. <br />' Holes for wood line posts shall have a minimum diameter of 8 inches and a minimum <br />depth of 2 feet below furished grade. The butt end of wood posts shall be embedded <br />in gravel to a maximum depth of 3 inches before concrete is placed. Pour the wncrete <br />footings in place. The footings shall be of the dimensions shown. Set gate posts plumb <br />and to a depth of 1 foot 10 inches. Pour concrete and tamp around the posts and brace <br />ends after the pose and braces have been brought to position and are held firmly in <br />place. Strike off the surface of the concrete to a reasonably smooth surface near the <br />ground level in a manner that will allow water runoff. Allow the concrete to cure for <br />at least three days before the posts and braces are subjected to strain or use, unless <br />otherwise authorized by the RESIDENT PROJECT REPRESENTATIVE. <br />B. Metal line posts which are set by driving shall be free of damage when in place, and <br />any driven post which is twisted or bent, or which has a misshapen top shall be <br />removed and replaced with a new post. Metal line posts 6 to 7 feet in length shall be <br />driven to a minimum depth of 2 feet 6 inches. Metal line posts 8 feet in length shall <br />be driven to a minimum depth of 2 feet 8 inches. <br />6-19 <br />
