1 <br />D. Forming ~ ~ ~ <br />' 1. Cast-in-place concrete bulkhead shall have a minimum thickness of 0 f or as <br />directed by the RESIDENT PROJECT REPRESENTATIVE. <br />' 2. All forms shall be mortaz-tight and sufficiently rigid to prevent distortion while <br />concrete is being poured, due to pressure of the concrete or from other loads <br />incidental to the concrete operations, including vibration. <br />' 3. Subcontractor shall submit shop drawings of proposed cast-in-place concrete <br />bulkhead formwork to the RESIDENT PROJECT REPRESENTATIVE. <br />' Subcontractor shall not procced with formwork until RESIDENT PROJECT <br />REPRESENTATIVE approves shop drawings. <br /> 4. If horizontal drainage culvert is required or specified by the RESIDENT <br /> PROJECT REPRESENTATIVE, anopening must be cut in the base of formwork <br /> where the culvert is to be set. The culvert will be set and sealed mortaz-tight <br /> such that it will not be plugged or damaged from pouring the concrete. Culvert <br /> will extend a minimum of 5 feet past the tce of bulkhead backfill. <br /> i <br />1 E <br />Rein forcing Steel Q~ <br /> . <br />' 1. The cast-in-place concrete bulkhead shall have a mini reinforcement of ay4 <br />rebazs at 12 inches on center <br />each way <br /> , <br />. <br />' 2. Rebaz must be grouted or epoxyed a of 10 inches into competent <br />bedrock perimeter of the mine shaft. U or grout or epoxy shall be at the <br /> discretion of the RESIDENT PROJECT ENTATIVE. <br />' 3. Subcontractor shall place and secure rebaz to prevent shifting or movement while <br /> concrete is being poured, due to pressure of the concrete or from other loads <br /> incidental to the concrete operations, including vibration. Rebaz must be tied <br />' together, welding of reinforcing steel is not allowed. <br />4. Subcontractor shall submit shop drawings of proposed cast-in-place concrete <br />bulkhead rebaz placement to the RESIDENT PROJECT REPRESENTATIVE. <br />Subcontractor shall not proceed with rebaz placement until RESIDENT PROJECT <br />' REPRESENTATIVE approves shop drawings. <br />F. Concrete Placement <br />1. The concrete may be mixed at the work site or delivered as "ready mix," at the <br />RESIDENT PROJECT REPRESENTATIVE's discretion. If the concrete is <br />mixed at the site, equipment and mixing procedures shall conform to ACI 301, <br />Chapter 7. "ready mix" is used, it shall be mixed and transported in <br />accordan STM C 94. The concrete mix shall be designed to produce a <br />' minim ,000 si concrete at the 28-day test.
