to the mill has also been installed. There has been partial installation of the major mechanical
components of the vertical raw mill. Work is ongoing with regard to structural, mechanical, and
electrical installations in this area including systems for transferring kiln feed from the mill to the
homogenization raw feed silo. Additionally, construction of the pyroprocessing system's
exhaust to the raw mill and bypass system via the main baghouse is also underway.
8. Homogenization Silo - Construction of the concrete structure of the
homogenization silo has been completed. Work is ongoing on mechanical, structural, and
electrical installation of internal equipment associated with this process. As such, the roof has
not yet been placed on the silo. Work has started on a bucket elevator system for transferring the
homogenized kiln feed from the bottom of the silo to the top of the preheater.
9. Pyronrocessing and Coal Mill Svstem -Many major mechanical components and
subsystems of the pyroprocessing system have been installed including the preheater tower, five-
stage preheater, conditioning tower, calciner and associated dry scrubbing system, kiln, clinker
cooler, refractory, cooler fans, burner floor, conveyors, bucket elevators, and ducting. Many of
these components still need to be tied together. Construction of the coal mill system is also
underway. Structural and mechanical work on the main kiln baghouse and clinker cooler
baghouse is well advanced. Structural, mechanical, and electrical work on all these systems
continues. Main and clinker cooler stacks are complete.
10. Clinker Storage -Construction of the structures of the main clinker dome and
special clinker bin is underway. Construction of conveyors for moving clinker from the clinker
cooler to the dome and silo/bin are underway. Construction of two reclaim tunnels and
associated conveyors for moving clinker from the storage dome to the finish mill clinker bin is
underway. Structural, mechanical, and electrical work on all these systems continues.
11. Vertical Finish Mill -Construction of the vertical finish mill and associated
subsystems has been started. Feed bins for clinker, gypsum, and limestone aze in place. The
base of the finish mill has been installed. Work is ongoing with the finish mill dust collector.
Construction of conveying systems for moving cement from the finish mill to the cement storage
silos has not yet been started Structural, mechanical, and electrical work on all these systems
continues.
12. Cement Storage and Shipping -Construction of the concrete structure of the four
cement storage silos has mostly been completed. As work is ongoing on mechanical, structural,
dust collection, and electrical installation of internal equipment and components associated with
these silos, the roof structures have not yet been constructed. Work on systems associated with
cement load-out to bulk railcars and trucks has started. Structural, mechanical, and electrical
work on all these systems continues.
13. Plant Entrance Road -Construction of a concrete two lane, approximately two
mile long plant entrance road from Lime Road to the plant construction site has largely been
completed. As part of this road, a two lane bridge over the St. Charles River has been
constructed. Both the road and the bridge are in use. Ground disturbances associated with the
temporary plant road and bridge construction is currently being reclaimed.
DN321281 I92
