Slormw~ater Manaeemenl Plan 1226/97
• 2.0 COMMON TECHNICAL INFORMATION
2.1 Activity Description
The 4 areas subject to the SWMP include 3 mining areas and 2 plant areas (See Mine Base
Map). The overall purpose of the project is to mine and crush/screen the project's
aggregate resources without adding significant amounts of sediment to the 2 streams near
the area: Tallahassee Creek and Arkansas River. No mining or plant activities will occur
in or adjacent to either body of water. After mining, reclamation activities will focus on
stabilization of disturbed areas.
2.2 Site Map
The Mine Base Map for the Parkdale Project has been derived from a USGS base. Site
maps for each of the SWMP sites are in Section 3.
2.3 Description of Potential Pollutant Sources
Suspended solids in water could come from mining and plant operations. The material
would be sand and rock material as it currently exists at the site.
2.4 Significant Known Spills or Leaks of Toaic or Hazardous Substances
There are no known spills or leaks or toxic or hazardous materials on the property.
2.5 Surface Water Flow Direction
• Surface water flows toward the Tallahassee Creek north of the Tallahassee Creek and
primarily south towards the Arkansas River south of the Tallahassee Creek.
2.6 Summary of Sampling Data
Sampling data is unavailable.
2.7 Description of Sampling Points
Water will be sampled from outfalls 001, 002, 003 and 004 when process water and/or
stormwater is discharged.
2.8 Preventive Maintenance and Inspection Procedures
All erosion control measures will be inspected at lease once per week during active
operations and following any rainfall of 0.5 inches or greater per 24 hours. All control
measures will be maintained in good working order. Any necessary repair or maintenance
activities will be initiated within 24 hours of report. Devices will be inspected to ensure
that they are securely anchored. Accumulated sediment will be removed when it reaches a
depth that could affect performance.
The Applicant's on-site representative will be knowledgeable in erosion control measures
and be responsible for the inspections, maintenance of the SWMP, the SWMP Log and
reports. The on-site representative will be responsible for documenting compliance with
specific items in the SWMP. Copies of all incident reports will be sent to the Agile
. representative. A comprehensive inspection of all SWMP sites will be made and a report
Page 3
