a.o3. S <br /> <br />• <br />~e <br />Revised. <br />July 28, 1982 <br />2.03,8 Permit term <br />The Uiking Coal Company is submitting this application for a permit term of <br />two (2) years. Prior to the expiration of the two years, the Viking Coal <br />Company will request a permit term for an additional five years or time period <br />as necessary to complete mining of the reserve, The permit area represented <br />in this application represents about 140 acres, It is the intent of Uiking <br />Coal Company to eventually permit an additional 320 acres adjacent to this <br />permit area. Thus, this application is considered a Partial Permit <br />application. <br />Mining activities are expected to start in September, 1982. The first area to <br />be mined is designated "1982(2)" on Map 6. Approximately 18 acres of land <br />will be disturbed the first year, Mining activities. in this area will <br />terminate in the early spring of 1984. The second and final area to be mined <br />under this Partial Permit is designated "1982(38)" on Map 6. Approximately 8 <br />acres of land will be disturbed. Mining activities in this area will <br />terminate in the Fall of 1984. In addition to the areas actually mined, <br />surface facilities will be established beginning in September, 1982. These <br />facilities include office space, a maintainance shed, and a portable crusher. <br />This area will affect approximately 4 acres. Sediment ponds and diversion <br />ditches will occupy about 2 acres. Details of the proposed operation of the <br />mine can be found within other sections of this application. Total disturbed <br />area is estimated at 2b acres. <br />~. <br />
