•r
Ensminger shop. All maintenance supplies, such as oil, grease, etc. is housed at
the Ensminger Construction shop that is neaz Haxtun.
Smooth transition slopes will be maintained between the pit and the naturally
occurring intermittent creek. These transition slopes will allow flow during
heavy runoff to continue unimpeded through the site, minimizing any off-site
damage, and maintaining stability for the banks that will ultimately be reclaimed.
No surface water structures are planned at the site.
Mr. Ensminger is aware of the division's policy regarding toxic or hazardous
materials. Maintenance of the equipment will not occur at the pit site. Any
reportable spill would be handled according to the protocol set forth in the
Division's policy regarding "Notification of Toxic or hazardous Materials Spills
at Mine Site."
4) Rule 6.3.4 Exhibit D-Reclamation Plan. Please address the following items:
• Please specify the depth of topsoil to be replaced on site.
Six inches of topsoil will be put in place as the banks aze reclaimed.
• Please specify a seed mixture to be planted in pure live seed per acre (PLS),
the applicatiou method for seeding, bow the seed bed will be prepared to
eliminate compacted conditions, and the time of year when the area will be
re-seeded. Please also state if fertilizer or mulch will be applied to the site
and state the quantities and application rate.
The NRC recommendation will be the method employed as the site is reclaimed.
That plan would employ a cover crop such as hybrid forage sorghum. After the
topsoil is applied, the azea will be worked with an offset disk if there are areas,
which are compacted, that will not receive seed well. As stated in the plan, the
cover crop will be planted before July. The local grain cooperative will take a
soil test prior to re-seeding. Fertilizer quantities and application rate will be
applied according to the recommendation provided by the agronomist at that time.
After the establishment of the cover crop, the site will be seeded with the grass
mixture specified in the NRC recommendation. The seeding rate would also be
according to the rate recommended in the NRC plan. The grass seed will be
drilled with a grass drill between the dates of November 1 and May 1.
• Please state if the bottom of the reclaimed drainage will be reinforced with
rock material (or other method) to provide a stable channel configuration
consistent with the future land use.
