`Y
The bottom of the reclaimed drainage will be smoothed and remain in naturally
occurring material. North Frenchman Creek does have periodic flow due to
heavy rains. That flow will bring new sand and gravel into the bottom of the
reclaimed pit azea. Over time that new sand and gravel will level out the drainage
to a level close to the original creekbed elevations.
Please provide across-section of the proposed reclaimed channel depicting
the grade of the reclaimed slopes and the elevation of the bottom of the
channel in relation to the undisturbed sections of the channel This is
necessary to adequately describe the gradient of all reclaimed slopes
sufficient to describe the post mine topography.
Two cross-section drawings are attached. The north-south cross-section shows a
typical sectioa of the reclaimed slopes and the elevation of the bottom of the
channel. The east-west cross-section shows how the pit will transition into the
undisturbed section of the channel adjoining the pit.
5. Rule 6.3.5 Ezhibit E -Map. Please indicate on the map the areas that will not be
established with vegetation.
A map has been marked with approximate boundaries showing banks which will be re-
seeded and creek bed subject to periodic flooding which will not be re-seeded
6. Please provide a method of weed control that shall be employed for all prohibited
noxious weed species, and whenever invasion of a reclaimed area by other weed
species seriously threatens the development of the desired vegetation.
Phillips County offers a weed spraying service for noxious weeds. The County provides
the labor and the landowner pays for the spray to comrol noxious weeds. That program
would be utilized for the control of noxious weeds. 7f other weeds jeopardize the re-
establishment ofgrasses, aprivate spray service operated by the local grain/fertilizer
cooperative would be retained to do the spraying. Those costs would be borne by Rick
Ensminger as owner of the property.
