<br />IJ <br />7.0 ACTIVITIES IN THE EVENT OF A SPILL <br />' A spill of chemicals will receive immediate and judicious action. <br />This plan is an outline of procedures to be followed in thE> event of an <br />accident or spill of on-site materials. <br />t 7.1 Fuel and ANFO <br /> <br /> IN T HE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT, SPILL OR LEAK, THE FOLLOWING STEPS <br />' ARE TO BE FOLLOWED: <br /> I. Immediately extinguish all open flames an~i smoking in <br /> the general area. <br /> 2. Attempt to stop or contain the flow of material only if <br />' there is no danger of combustion. If there is a danger <br /> of combustion, immediately clear the area. In attempting <br />' to stop or contain ANFO, a dust respirator should be <br /> worn. <br />' 3. In the case of an accident, administer first aid and <br />' medical treatment. <br /> 4. Notify immediate supervisor or the Safety snd Training <br />' Supervisor. Supervisors are to report directly and <br /> without delay to the Mine Superintendent or acting Duty <br />' Officer. The Mine Superintendent will take further <br /> corrective action. <br />' 5. Begin clean-up activities promptly. Fuels should be <br /> carefully pumped back into properly vented storage <br /> containers. All contaminated material shouldt~e collected <br /> in barrels and disposed in a manner and at a location <br /> specifically approved by the Mine Superintendent. <br />1 <br /> <br /> <br />-9- <br />
