1
1 Disturbance Area
' The mining plan is to re-disturb and reclaim essentially all of the 9.9 acre
permit area.
'
Water Use and Interception
t The use of water is not anticipated in this operation. No dewatering is
anticipated to be required. As indicated earlier, mining will not get closer than
approximately 2 feet to the water table. This operation is not anticipated to
' affect the quality or quantity of surface or groundwater systems in the area.
' A Stormwater Permit (and Stormwater Management Plan) will be applied
for if required. A small berm of spoils may be maintained around the disturbed
area to filter runoff (in the same fashion as a silt fence) as it leaves the site.
' No acid or toxic producing materials are expected to be exposed during
mining. This material is simply overturned alluvial gravels and is not a source of
' contamination to the environment.
The dredged alluvial gravels will provide primary and secondary
commodities for use as aggregate products. Removing the dredge tailing piles
will provide an area with a much more stable configuration. At present, the only
beneficial use of the land is mining - i.e., a source of aggregate materials.
Removal of the spoils and reclamation to a grass cover will reclaim the area to a
beneficial use other than mining.

1
1

1 8
