Aldrich, dated November 6, 2001.
2. Geotechnical Engineering Services, Proposed MMRR Quarry, Gilpin County,
Colorado, Lyman Henn, Inc. dated August 19, 2005.
3. 3`d Adequacy Review Comments - MMRR Quarry, Regular 112 Application
Class: Permit File No. M-2004-067, State of Colorado, Division of Mineral and
Geology, dated September 12, 2005.
\.
4. Sheet GC-2, Civil Standard Details II, Sanitary Interceptor Along SH-119.
From the geotechnical engineering investigation (No.l), the subsurface conditions
consisted of 20.5 feet to 26 feet of coarse alluvium overlying bedrock. The alluvium consists of
cobble and boulders up to several feet in diameter with sand and gravel. The sand and gravel
ranges from poorly graded to well graded.
From the geotechnical engineering services (No.2), the estimated particle velocities and
particle accelerations from the proposed quarry development and production operations were
calculated for various structures in the vicinity of the proposed quarry. Particle velocities
ranging from 0.088 to 0.606 inches per second for production blasting, 0.227 to 3.628 inches
per second for the product processing area and 0.198 to 1.490 for the access road were
determined. Particle accelerations from the proposed quarry development and production
operations were calculated using the particle velocities mentioned above. Particle acceleration
ranged from 0.014 to 0.986 G's for the production blasting, 0.037 to 5.900 G's for the product
processing area, and 0.032 to 2.426 for the access road.
3
