<br />EXHIBIT C <br />MINING PLAN <br />PROPOSED SCHOOLFIELD PIT <br />It is proposed to begin the excavation from this gravel pit during the <br />summer of 1993, and end approximately 20 years later. <br />Topsoil would be placed into a long flat-topped berm to the North <br />of the mined area. This material, if left for more than one growing season, <br />would be seeded with the seeding mixture specified in the reclamation plan <br />in Exhibit D. Topsoil in this area is not more than 6-12 inches deep, and <br />all would be stripped and placed into the berm before mining of gravel would <br />begin. <br />Overburden is of the amount to be inconsequential. The deposit of the <br />material to be mined is estimated at 25 feet and that is the maximum proposed <br />mining depth. <br />The major components of the mining operation will consist of a 20 foot <br />access road along the east line of the NEB of Section 2, and storage piles <br />of gravel immediately to the North of the active mining swath. <br />At any time the size of the significantly disturbed areas would be <br />approximately 580 feet by 425 feet with about half being under active <br />reclamation activities. <br />Water to be used in the project for dust control will be obtained <br />from a commercial well and will be transported in by a water truck. <br />According to existing water wells in the surrounding area, it is <br />approximately 300 feet to water. As water will not be used other than for <br />dust control, there should be no problem with sediment containment or <br />run-off and as such no infringement or injury to any existing water rights. <br />
