7.4.3 Diversions
•
An integral conq~onent of the TBM sediment control system
is the construction of diversion ditches above the disturbed to
channel undisturbed area runoff away from disturbed areas. The
design of each diversion ditch can be found in F~chibit V-3,
Sediment Control System Calculations.
The construction of the ditches has been detailed in
Section V, and the reader is referred to that section for construction
specifics. No stream channel diversions are planned at the Trinidad
Basin Mine.
7.4.4 Sediment Control Measures
~ cPrlirmnt wntrol measures utilized at the Trinidad
Basin Mine have been designed to minimize sedimentation of streams
and areas outside of the permit boundaries, and minimize erosion.
The measures used to afford this protection have been discussed
in previous sections.
7.4.5 Sediment Ponds
The reader is referred to ESchibit V-3 for the sediment
control calculations. All ponds, ditches and culverts have been
designed using the appropriate precipitation event criteria.
The construction of the pond embanlanents has been discussed
in Section V, and the reader is referred to that section for the
construction practices.
7.4.6 Pcid-Forming and Toxic-Forming Spoil
VII-6
