2.04.3(3) <br />• The practice of not using - inch coal and the improper disposal <br />of this coal slack had left piles of coal in many areas of the <br />property. This coal slack has burned from time to time and had been <br />washed down the drainage system. Exploration for the "D" seam <br />has left five or more trench cuts in the draw below the present <br />mine. For residences, two areas were cut and filled on the west <br />side of the draw. The lower residential area was developed near the <br />beginning of the operation and the upper area was developed around <br />1930. Roads were put in when convenient for access to the mine, the <br />residence, the farm area north of the mine, the pit areas, the dump <br />areas and the utilities. <br />• <br />C~ <br />REVISED May 8, 1981 37a <br />
