• 15.5 Augmented Sceding andlor Cultural PreMiccs
In addition to 1992 replaced topsoil revegetation practices, Trapper al:o conducts several aug-
mented seeding and/or cultural practices. These practices are addressed below.
Mature Shrub Transplant Clump
Trapper constructed two shrub clumps in Derringer Pit reclamation arc:a during 1992, one just
above the 7,200-ft elevation and the second at the 6,700-h elevation. Trapper has constructed 16
of tltese clumps to date (27.0 acres) for wildlife habitat improvement purposes. No mature shrub
clumps are proposed for 1993.
Seedline Shrub Clump
Trapper discontinued the seedling shrub clump study initially established in 1990. Trapper is cur-
rently analyzing the economics of this integrated practice on our range ecosystem to determine if
this practice should be continued.
Drainages Reconswction
The acreages, location and methods are fully described in Section 3.0 of this annual report.
Diversion Ditch Reclamation
• During 1992, Trapper removed approximatety 3.4 acres of diversion ditches. Ditches were
removed from our runoff control system since vegetation success and the remaining diversion
system is adequately handling runoff events. After ditches are closed, they are seeded to the
appropriate range site mix based on elevation. The areas reclaimed acre documented on our
annual fall aerial photos.
Livestock Tanks
Trapper died not construct any livestock tanks during the 1992 field season. See Section 6 and
Maps 6.1.
Developmental Drill Sites
During 1992, Trapper broadcast seeded approximatety 40 acres of developmental drill sites using
the approved seed mie. The specifics and locations are presented in L Johns's 1992 Develop-
mental Drilling summary submitted for your approval on March 12,1993.
Topsoil Piles
See Section 5 and maps 5.1. Topsoil stockpiles were smoothed and seeded to the approved 1992
perennial topsoil pile mix Approximately 52.1 acres were treated.
Sediment Dams
During 1992, sediment ponds Far East Buzzard #1, Deer Gulch #1 and West Pyeatt #2 were
constructed; also the siphon tube was removed from Johnson dam #10 attd the principal spillway
• was moved to the east side of the newly reconstructed dam. Elk Gulch dam was cleaned and the
inlet sediment basin reclaimed. All dams were broadcast-seeded with the approved dam seed mhc.
