Section 780.12 (b) Continues.
• The shop and warehouse complex was established in 1962 at the same time the
Energy Mine Ro. 1 was being developed. Only minor additions have been made
since that time.
Equipment Construction Site
All major equipment is assembled at the equipment construction site located
in Section 29, Township 5 North, Range 8C West, as shown on Energy Mines No.
1 and 2 Existing structures (Map 34). The site which was constructed in a
level, graded area covers appror.imately 14 acres. Two barn-like buildings
mounted on railroad tracks are situated at the site for use in covering any
equipment construction work performed during inclement weather. These
buildings can be moved on or off the equipment to allow for the sue of large
cranes needed to move heavy parts onto the equipment. Once the assemblage
of the mining machine is completed, the barn-like structures can be moved
off the machine.
• Currently, the Preventive Maintenance Bay Site occupies the area formerly
known as the Equipment Construction Site. The site is used for servicing
equipment and for storage of miscellaneous material. Modifications to the
area included the addition of a large equipment wash bay and an
electrical/bulk AN FO supply shop. The electrical/bulk AN FO shop
contains associated supplies, ari office and an area for parking trucks.
With the 1989 completion of Coal and overburden shots, the ANFO Supply
Shop has been removed. The electric supply shop has also been converted to
a pumphouse for the million gallon water tank.
Also found at the Preventive Maintenance Bay Site is a one-million gallon
diesel fuel storage tank for use in emergencies or diesel fuel shortages.
This structure has been completed and is included within Colorado Yampa Coal
Company's Spill Prevention Plan (Exhibit 15, SPCC Plan). On April 13, 1989
the one-million storage tank had been converted to water storage and will b2
removed from the SPCC plan. (See hIR 89-27 Fresh Water System Modification,
.
