Section 780.12 (b) Continued.
' Directly adjacent to the main shop building are ashop-office trailer, a lobe
and wash bay building, and an employee change house. The shop-office trailer
is utilized by shop foremen and shop clerks because of space shortages within
the main buildi~. The mobile equipment fleet at the mine is generally serviced
with lubricants and oil changes with the lobe and wash bay building. Muddy
equipment is cleaned before any maintenance work. Union employees use the change
house near the shop before their shift to change back into their street clothing.
Shower facilities are provided in the change house. Additional structures in
the shop and warehouse complex include adiesel-fueling and agasoline-fueling
station for both large mobile mine equipment and the mine pick-up truck fleet.
Mobile equipment and employee parking areas are also provided at the complex.
In order to evaluate the existing septic system and leach field for future
expansion at the mine a percolation test will be conducted. Approximately six,
4 inch diameter holes, 30-96" inches deep will be augured for the percolation
test. After the test is completed the cuttings will be placed back in the hole.
Also, an eight foot deep back hoe pit will be dug so a soil profile can be
• obtained. After the back hoe pit is logged it will be backfilled. It should
be noted that the activity as shown on Permit Renewal Map No. 4, will be within
the boundary of the existing sediment control system.
Drainage from the shop and warehouse cong~lex will be collected in sedimentation
ponds E and F as shoom on Energy Mines No. 1 and 2 Hydrmlogy (Map 13). These
structures have been designed to meet the performance standards of Subchapter
K. Construction of these structures will be conducted during the fall and early
winter of 1979-1980.
A series of 3 lined ponds located adjacent to the shop facilities at Energy Mine
No. 1 were removed by CYCC operations in 1983. As approved by the C[~RD's minor
revision dated April 12, 1983. The waste oil pond soil was disposed of in the
pit while the oil was deposited in an approved site located in Craig, Colorado.
The pords were replaced by a 4, 000 gallon waste tank and a 370 gallon oil
separator tank.
• ~
MR 90'~C 780-33 Revised 09/06/90
