~~ <br />1 <br />• Drainage <br />No bridges or new access roads are proposed in this permit <br />application. Natural drainage channels were not altered or relocated <br />during construction of the access road. Two crossings of diversion <br />ditch E1 were made with culverts of the appropriate size, so as not to <br />affect the normal flow or gradient of the drainage. The culverts were <br />installed and will be mainained in accordance with the applicable <br />requirments of Rule 4.03.2(4). <br />The access road is crowned to prevent ponding and deterioration of the <br />surface. Runoff from the road is passed through Sedimentation Pond E <br />before leaving the permit area. <br />Surfacing <br />The access road is surfaced with granular spoils excavated during <br />previous mining. These materials have historically proven to be <br />sufficiently durable for the volume of traffic and weight and speed of <br />• vehicles utilizing the road. No acid-or toxic-forming substances were <br />used in road surfacing. <br />Maintenance <br />Maintenance and repair of the access road will be conducted in <br />accordance with Rule 4.03.2(6). The haulroad maintenance program <br />outlined previously will be implemented as required. <br />Reclamation <br />The access road will be reclaimed in accordance with Rule 4.03.2(7), <br />immediately after the road is no longer needed for operations, <br />reclamation or monitoring. <br />Light Use Roads <br />A short light-use road provides access to the pump house located in <br />the SE1/4, SE1/4 of Section 2, TSN, R86W.
