INTRODUCTION <br /> Land Status: The land located at the site <br /> (U' A- <br />for this proposed gravel pit is fease~ by <br /> Bob Miller who owns the mineral rights. <br /> Land Use: The present land use at the site <br /> is rangeland made up entirely of a sandy <br /> foothill range site; estimated annual <br /> forage production would be 1400 air-dry <br /> pounds. <br /> Location & Size of Proposed Pit: The <br /> location is approximately 10 miles north <br /> & 2 miles east of Elizabeth (legals are <br /> in the NE'Z> Section 28, T.6S., R.64W., <br /> 6th PM). The proposed size of the pit <br /> would be 40 to 60 acres. <br /> Environmental Concerns: The proposed <br /> gravel pit will have no adverse environ- <br /> mental impacts in this area. <br /> Soils Data: Necessary soil information <br /> can be found on sheet numbers 1 and 6 of <br /> the Western Elbert County Soil Survey. <br /> II. OBJECTIVES AND PURPOSE <br /> The objectives of the land user are to <br /> open a new gravel pit which will eventu- <br /> ally be self operated. He plans to market <br /> the gravel with a local concrete company <br /> in Franktown. When mining is completed <br /> the landuser plans to reclaim the pit area <br /> for use as pasture and hay land. <br /> The purpose of this plan is to provide <br /> the landuser with the resource information <br /> necessary to reclaim the gravel pit while <br /> accomplishing his objectives. <br /> <br /> Y+~ <br />
