i <br />EXHIPIT K - CLIMATE <br /> <br />The locality of the project is listed on page 1 of the original <br />reclamation plan. The average annual precipitation in the area is <br />17 inches w-lth about 75 percent falling as rain in the period of <br />April to September. Average annual snowfall is EO to 70 inches <br />per year with an average of 22 days having at least 1 inch of snow <br />cover on the ground. The average number of frost-free days per <br />year is 63 to 111 with the last free2e in +,he spring around May 15 <br />to June 5 and the first killing frost in the fall coming from <br />September 9 to October 1. The average relative humidity i.n mid- <br />afternoon is less than 36 percent in the spring and about !~1 percent <br />the rest of the year. The average temperature in winter is 30 <br />degrees with an avera3ge daily minimum of 13.7 degrees. In summer <br />the average temperature is 67,6 decrees with an average daily <br />maximum of 83.8 degrees. The prevailing winds are from the north- <br />west in the winter and the south in the summer and spring.
