<br />SANITY F001'HILL RADIGE SITE It is composed of deep sandy loam and
<br />loamy sand soils with rapid xater intake
<br />rates and low water holding capacities.
<br />It is dominated by big bluestem, little
<br />bluestem, rand reedgrass, needle and
<br />thread grass, and sideoats grams. Blue
<br />grams, sedge, western wheatgrass, ~une-
<br />grass, and native bluegrasses tend to increase
<br />with grazing pressure. Production may
<br />be as high as 1500 lbs, j acre in
<br />favorable years. Overgrazed and. other
<br />disturbed areas are normally invaded
<br />by fringed sage, hairy goldaster,
<br />prickly pear, and many annual xeeds
<br />and grasses.
<br />F.C. In fair condition these ranges are producing
<br />1500 lbs, of usable grasses such as
<br />needle and thread Rrass, bluestem, and
<br />blue grams,
<br />If improved to Good condition the per-
<br />tentage of blue arama sill be reduced
<br />in favor of more of the other mentioned
<br />productive grasses,
