Mr. Peter V. O'Connor September 8, 1983
RE: La Poudre Sand & Gravel, Inc. File Nu. 83-90 PROJECT N0. 139-811
C-2 The topsoil and overburden will be maintained in separate stockpiles.
This procedure will be stated on the Mining Plan.
C-3a. It is anticipated that the topsoil stockpiles will be maintained at
a minimal size and length of time.. The initial phase of the "block"
mining procedure will produce the maximum amount, Thereafter, thr_
topsail will be replaced duriny each phase. A 3h to lv slope will
be sfrnwn for topsoil stockpiles.
C-3b If more than adequate replacement topsoil is available and needs to
be stockpiled for snore than one growing season, the operator will
establish proper 3:1 grade and seed with the suggested grass mix for
the reclamation of the landscaped areas with the addition of 1# per
acre of Red Clover or Strawberry Clover. (See Page E-3).
C-4 The final pond slopes to 10 feet below waterline will be 4h: lv and
map corrected to show this slope.
C-6 The Plrase, Pit and Pond numbers all relate to the Same area and are
used interchangeably depending on the actual area and specific point
or time of operational sequence.
C-6 Large Arch-type culverts will be laid in the bed of the river to pro-
vide the temporary river crossing. It is anticipated these will be
60" Arch Pipe by 24 long of adequate number to carry the normal flow.
High flow spring runoff will be accommodated by adequate by-pass channel
or r•einoval of the temporary crossing during this period, All plans
and procedures regarding this crossing will be worked out with the
Corp of Engineers.
C-7 The access roads throughout the area will be 24'± wide with drainage
ditches to provide stability. The river crossing will be about 16'
wide on top of the 24' long arch pipes.
2
