ERO Resources <br />• <br />This conplex occurs on ridgetops and sides lopes at intermediate elewtionx <br />and dew loped from fine-textured calcareous residuum primarily from <br />shale. It is comprised of about 45 percent Moyerson soils anxi 25 percent <br />rock outcrop. Sma11 areas of Redcreek and Renteac were included in <br />mapping. Redcreek soils are shallow and loamy. Rentsac soils are shallow <br />and loony-skeletal. These included soils occupy about 10 percent of the <br />unit. <br />The Moyerson soil is challow, calcareous and well-drained. In a typical <br />profile, the surface layer is light yellowish brown sandy loam about 2 <br />inches thick. The subsurface soil is light yellowish brown channery loam <br />about S inches thick. The substratum is pa l• brown oaloareoua channvey <br />silty clay about 14 inches thick and is underlain with fractured, <br />interbedded sandstone, loamstone and shale at a depth of 14 inches. <br />The Moyerson soil has moderately slow to slow permeability and medium to <br />• moderately rapid runoff. The erosion hazard is low to moderate frow wind <br />and moderate to high from water. Available waterholding capacity is <br />ioderate. Effeotiw rooting depth is 10 to 20 inches. <br />The rock outcrop is primarily exposed shale, siltatone and clayetone <br />bedrock which is calcareous, brown to yellow and fractured. Included with <br />rook outcrop are wry shallow, skeletal soils adjacent to e~osed bedrock. <br />This soil is used for livestock grazing and wildlife habitat. The <br />vegetation is primarily mixed perermial grasses, sparse big sagebrush and <br />some areas of chvatgrasv. <br />The average depth of suitable topsoil material is 6 inches. This material <br />iv rated poor to fair with suitability decreasing with depth. <br />• <br />II.I-17 <br />
