1.7.3 Decision-Making Authority shall mean an individual or body <br />vested with the authority to make recommendations or act on <br />application requests. The final decision-making authority is the <br />one which has the authority to act on a request by approving or <br />denying it. <br />1.7.4 Defensib/e Space shall mean that area surrounding structures <br />where clearing of vegetation and/or combustibles could save a <br />dwelling on site during a wildfire. <br />1.7.5 Density shall mean the measure of the ratio of population to <br />the area of land occupied by that population, which may be <br />expressed as dwelling unit(s). <br />1.7.6 Deve/opment shall mean any activity or alteration of the <br />landscape, its terrain, contour, or vegetation, including the erection <br />or alteration of buildings or structures. <br />1.7.7 Director shall mean the Director of the Community <br />Development Department of the County. <br />1.7.8 District shall mean a geographic area within the County <br />within which certain zoning or development regulations apply. <br />1.7.9 Drink Sa/es shall mean an establishment required to obtain <br />an alcohol license, which allow on-site sale of beer, wine and/or <br />spirits. <br />1.7.10 Drinking Estab/ishments shall mean those <br />establishments required to obtain an alcohol license, which allow <br />the on-site sale and consumption of aicoholic beverages. <br />1 .7.11 Drive-in Use shall mean an establishment in which the <br />principal use, by design, physical facilities, or service, permits <br />Gilpin County Zoning Regulations 17 <br />
