Shapine and Gradinr; - Bank shaping and <br /> Grading will be done on all distuubed areas <br /> to reduce the amount of bank slope. The <br /> final slopes on all areas will not exceed 3:1 <br /> (2). Topsoil - Topsoiling will be done on all <br /> exposed banks and critical areas. The top <br /> soil will be applied as evenly as possible an <br /> to a minimum depth of 6 inches. <br /> (3). Fertilizer - Fertilizer will be applied <br /> on all disturbed areas to be vegetated unless <br /> a soil analysis indicates that fertilizing is <br /> not necessary. Rate of application will be <br /> not less than 40 lbs. of nitrogen and 1~0 lbs. <br /> of phosphate. <br /> (4). Seeding - refer to attached seeding quid <br /> for recommended species and seeding rates. <br /> Woody species which will enhance the area for <br /> wildlife are also shown on the guide sheet. <br /> All grass seed will be planted using an <br /> adequate grass drill equiped to handle native <br /> seed. Seedings and woody plantings will be <br /> irrigated wherever feasible until established <br /> using water from the gravel pit and a portabl <br /> sprinkler system. IIp until two weeks follow- <br /> ing germination irrigation water will be <br /> applied at z inch per application and at <br /> intervals that will keep the top six inches <br /> of soil at no less than 50% of field capacity <br /> Two weeks after this initial period, a two <br /> inch application will be made. A second <br /> two-inch application will be made two weeks <br /> after the first. Tree and shrub plantings <br /> will continue to be irrigated for several <br /> growing seasons until well established. <br /> All planting will be done between April 1 <br /> to May 15.
