- 26 -
•

•
rfined Land Reclamation Board.
7.4 CHEMICAL TESTING
We have carefully reviewed the results of chemical
testing of the roof and waste rock performed by CWI, and
the comments of MLR. We feel that additional testing of the
roof, floor and interburden material should be performed.
In order to meet the requirements of the MLR for proper
determination of the nature of the projected coal processing
waste, complete chemical and textural analyses will be per-
formed during Phase 2 of our work on the roof, interburden
and floor material. Two samples of each material will be
taken and subjected to testing.
To conform with the requirements of the MLR, the
samples should be selected from representative borings or
sampled directly in the mine so that the sampling locations
can be defined.
7.5 SOIL AND ROCK TESTING
As discussed in previous sections, samples will be
taken from all borings drilled at the site. Samples will be
shipped to the laboratory and a series of tests will be
performed.
In addition to testing of index properties of soils,
triaxial and direct shear testing of the fill material and
of representative samples of in situ soils will be performed.
Data on the shearing resistance obtained from these tests
c[aNVOao cowurn+c, wc.
