One
of them would be located between the toe of the crushing and
screening level fill, and the second one would be located
below the proposed toe of the waste disposal pile. Both wells
would be drilled either to the ground water level or to the
depth of at least 50 feet. The depth required may be more if
the thickness of the colluvial soils exceeds some 40 feet.
The wells would be equipped wi
40, 3" diameter, with 5 to 10 feet of
2 feet into the water bearing stratum
tween the soil cover and the bedrock.
would be enveloped with a gravel pack
nite pellets above the perforations.
th PVC casing, Schedule
perforations installed
or on the contact be-
The perforated part
and sealed with bento-
As it is necessary to evaluate the permeability of the
soils or rocks below the proposed pile, we propose to per-
form two sets of testing; field permeability tests using
the falling head method, would be performed in the installed
wells. At the same time, undisturbed samples of the soils or
rocks would be obtained and laboratory permeability testing
would be conducted.
If a reasonable amount of water can be collected from
the monitoring wells after their installation, water quality
samples would be taken. Temperature, pH, and electric con-
ductivity would be measured in the field. The samples would
be delivered within 12 hours to the laboratory where they
would be tested according to the requirements of the Colorado
ccoHVOao cowaixa. ~wc.
