Mapping Units 66D and 66F <br />• Skylick loam <br />This is a deep, well-drained soil on gently sloping to moderately steep <br />mountain benches and sideslopes and is located only to the south of the <br />old spoils at Mine 1 and on the north side of Pinnacle Peak. The <br />dominate native vegetation growing on these two sites is aspen and oak <br />brush. <br />Included in this unit are small areas of Coutis fine sandy loam (34E) <br />and Routt loam (2VD). <br />Typically the surface layer is dark grayish brown loam about 24 inches <br />thick. The subsurface layer is brown light clay loam about 14 inches <br />• thick. The subsoil is brown and yellowish brown light clay loam ex- <br />tending to 60 inches or more. <br />Permeability is moderately slow. Effective rooting depth is 60 inches <br />or more. Available water capacity is high. Surface runoff is slow to <br />medium, erosion hazard is high from water. <br /> <br />-13- <br />
