Mapping Units 35C, 35D, 35E <br />• Aaberg silty clay <br />This is a moderately deep, well-drained soil on moderately steep to very <br />steep mountain ridges. It formed in material weathered from shale and <br />siltstone. This series is common for Eckman Park northward along both <br />sides of Foidel Creek. The native vegetation is commonly low sagebrush. <br />Included in this unit are Waybe silty clay loam (14) and Binco silty <br />clay loam (C10). <br />Typically the surface layer is grayish brown silty clay about 2 inches <br />thick. The subsoil layer is brown and pale brown silty clay about 30 <br />• inches thick. The substratum is light yellowish brown silty clay about <br />3 inches thick. Soft shale bedrock occurs at about 35 inches. <br />Permeability is very slow. Effective rooting depth ranges from 30 to 40 <br />inches. Available water capacity is low. Surface runoff is rapid, <br />erosion is high from water. <br /> <br />-9- <br />
