(f) Maximum slopes and slope combinations will be
compatible with the configuration of surrounding conditions and
selected land use.
6.2 Water (See Exhibit D 3. and Exhibit G)
All surface water runoff will be controlled by
utilizing appropriate ponds, berms, ditches, etc. Revegetation
will retard soil erosion. During postmininq reclamation, care will
be taken to ensure minimal soil erosion and/or disruption of the
hydrological balance. Some specific steps will be heavy revegeta-
tion, gravel and rock in steep areas, etc.
6.3 Wildlife (See Exhibit H)
During the different phases of reclamation the new
and diversified revegetation will offer good forage (especially
in the winter when operations will be curtailed) for the wildlife
in the area. It has been our experience that various wildlife
species will leave during construction but return during the
operations phase. No rare or endangered species have been identified
in the area.
6.3 Topsoiling
(a) Topsoil will be removed before overburden
and segregated, stockpiled and protects from wind and water erosion.
(b) Woody vegetation present will be removed from
the site or burned with permission from BLf1.
(c) Topsoil piles will be stored in places and
configurations to minimize erosion and located in areas where
disturbance by ongoing mining operations will be minimized.
-2 -
