-3-

It seems that, in fact, the maximum disturbed area during
the life of the mine is greater than 100 acres. The
reclamation bond will need to be calculated based upon
the point in the life of the mine of. maximum disturbance.
This inciudea excavated areas, waste stockpiles, topsoil
stockpiles, and waste stockpiles covered with topsoil and
covered with temporary vegetative cover (but not the
final seed mix). Please provide a map and location of
these features at the point of maximum disturbance.
Include volumes of each material, haul distances and
percent grade (+ or -) and haul routes.
4. The Division ie
concerned about any acid generation or potential acid mine
drainage on site and possibly off site. Will the base of any
water body sit on pyritic rock?
- The Division recommends that the operator consult 34-32-
112.5 and 116.5. as to whether this operation would fit the
category of a designated mining operation and therefore is
subject to the requirements outlined in these sections,
including but not limited to, an environmental protection plan
and establishing points of compliance for upgradient and
downgradient groundwater monitoring. Please provide either
evidence that this is ~ a Designated mining operation or
that you will provide the required information for a
Designated mining operation.
- How will dust be controlled from blowing on and off site?
Also, how will kiln duet be handled from the Dowe Flats quarry
at the Lyons plant?
Blasting Effects - "Ground Vibrations Studk and Air
Overpressure Analveis" - Please respond to Allen Sorenson~s
Memorandum dated October 13, 1993 (attached) in which he
reviewed this report.
