-4-
Page 6 - Please provide a map of known faulting and fracture
patterns on the site. Was the propagation of blast waves
considered for along major faults or structural dislocations?
Possibility of reflection off faults?
Will all Dowe Flats Quarry blasts be equal or less than Lyons
Quarry Blasts (pounds of explosives, delays, etc.)?
What are the cumulative affects of both ground motion and air
overpressure?
Are you willing to commit to pre-blast surveys to be completed
for all buildings within the vicinity (to be defined) of the
mine before initial blasting can start? This would include a
baseline assessment of the condition of the buildings before
blasting.
5. Exhibit E_- Reclamation Plan
As mentioned under Exhibit D - Mining Plan, please provide
acreages of all classes of disturbed land, volumes to be
moved, haul distances, and haul grades (in percent) at the
point of maximum disturbance on the site during the life of
the mine.
Page 4 - How many acres will be ripped at the time of maximum
disturbance during the life of the mine? Please explain what
"cultipacked" means when referring to seedbed preparation.
Page 5 = Under wooded wetland you state "...substrates in
which these (trees and shrubs) will be placed will be 15-20
inches of topsoil, with surface elevations set slightly (6-12
inches) above water table to allow roots "breathing apace".
How will this be monitored and assured?
Page 5 - Cottonwood groves - How will you maintain enough
moisture here to support cottonwood groves?
Page 6 - Will the needing rate be doubled for broadcast
seeding? What acreage will be broadcast seeded and
hydrolmulched at the point of maximum disturbance during the
life of the mine?
Page 7 - Please show areas of road cut, topsoil stockpiles and
fill that will require establishment of a vegetational cover
to stabilize them.
Ie glyphosate-based herbicide toxic in any way?
