The Department of Local Affairs awarded
$6,027,963 last year in matching assistance grants to numerous capital projects
throughout the county.

Energy and Mineral Impact Grants have helped fund such projects in Mesa County
as the Greenway Business Parkin Fruita, which funded the construction of 7,650
feet of infrastructure improvements. Other projects funded were the replacing of ,
leaky roofs on the old Department of Energy building in Grand Junction, providing
hardware and software for improving Mesa County's EMS system, and the overlay
of several roads throughout the county.
These projects could not have been funded without the support of Colorado's ,
Energy and Mineral Assistance Program.
I would strongly urge that the BLM acknowledge this fact and include it in the
environmental impact statement.
Re rds, ,
22Cx~ ~• 13~` 5~- a~.• y
~~. ~, X1501
