RECLAMATION PLAN (5-16-77)
THOMAS PIT - ANII~4AS AGGREGATES, INC.
The majority of this site (approximately 16 acres)
is made up of river wash materials consisting of sand and
gravel only with no overburden. The area of excavation is entirely
within this area and will not be revegetated. Included in this
unrevegetated area are the dredge hole and channel, settling
pond and ditch, and the existing hole excavated at the north end
of the affected area. The dredge hole and channel along with
the existing hole will remain as they are at present except that
walls will be sloped to 2:1 or flatter. The settling pond
and ditch will be obliterated. This work will be done with a
dozer.
At least 50 narrow leaf cottonwoods will be planted
as bare root stock in this area. They will be randomly spaced
along the west side of the dredge hole and south to the south
boundary of the affected area. These trees will be planted during
the spring and watered as required the first summer. No
replanting of trees will be performed as it is expected with
normal mortality rates to retain approximately two dozen of the
trees.
As shown on the reclamation map approximately ten (10)
acres of the site will be revegetated with grasses as irrigated
pasture. This area is relatively flat (slope = 3`k +) and at
present is used for stockpiling and processing aggregates.
Upon the end of operations and beginning of reclamation this area
will be cleaned of all stock piles and other foreign materials.
The soil will be plowed and disced for aeration and to obtain a weed
-1-
