Reclamation Timetable
• The operation of the Schwartzwalder Mine will not cause an in-
crease in the amount of affected land above that which is listed in
Exhibit A. However, it must be noted that all areas described in
Exhibit A are essential to the operation of the mine; therefore, the
timetable for the reclamation phase of operation will not begin until
the completion of mining operations.
The disposal of refuse and decommissioned equipment will continue
throughout the mining operation. Upon completion of mining 311 refuse
and equipment will have been removed from the site.
Depending upon the time of year when mining operations :eases,
the reclamation operation will be conducted so that all buildings and
concrete structures have been removed in time to permit application and
grading of topsoil during the early spring months. Seedbed ~~reparation
• and seeding will follow. It is estimated that site preparation prior to
the application of topsoil material will require approximately three
to four months.
f4ine sealing operations will commence as soon as all equipment
has been removed from the mine workings. It is estimated th~~t mine
sealing operations will require approximately three months.
The regrading operations at the waste dump are an integral part
of the mining operation. Therefore the waste will be shaped and
stabilized throughout the remaining life of the mine. Upon ~:ompletion
of mining and weather conditions permitting, the clay soil m+iterial
will be hauled to the site, spread over the dump area, and compacted.
Additionally, construction of the diversion channel will then begin.
C,
J
E-16
