However, in order to insure the <br />• establishment of a long-lasting vegetative cover, Cotter Cori oration <br />will broadcast nitrogen fertilizer at a rate of 30 pounds per acre <br />during the early spring of the second and third years. <br />Cotter Corporation will engage in the judicious applicai:ion of the <br />herbicide, Amitrole, as the primary method of weed control during <br />the first year. Amitrole, a post-emergence herbicide, will Ise applied <br />to the soil about one week prior to seeding operations at a rate of <br />about 1.5 pounds per acre. This herbicide has been shown to be effec- <br />tive against broadleaf and grass weeds. <br />Cotter will evaluate the emergence of the grass and weed species <br />at the beginning of the second growing season and will, if necessary, <br />apply the post-emergence herbicide 2, 4-D at a rate of 1.5 pounds <br />per acre during the late spring. <br />• At the request of the landowners and in the interest of fire truck <br />access the site access road will remain. However, the roadbed will be <br />covered with topsoil and revegetated. <br />Implementation of Reclamation Plan and its Relation to Existing Conditions <br />Referring to Exhibit A, a summary of how affected land ~aill be <br />rehabilitated is presented here. R71W.T2S, NW1/4 SE1/4 - Thc~ borehole/ <br />adit access road link will be regraded to insure that the ro~cd base adopts <br />a flat surface in the cross-sectional view. The cross slope grade will <br />remain at its present rate of between 10 and 12 %. The roadbed will be <br />scarified, fertilized and seeded with the mixture described above. The <br />existing roadbed, although revegetated, will remain at the request of <br />the landowner. <br /> <br />E-12 <br />
