material storage and eliminate the need`to disturb additional ground. <br />This waste rock will be dumped from the shaft conveyances onto the <br />waste rock around the shaft and dozed to the fi71 area or dumped ~ <br />into a bin and hauled by truck to the fill area. <br />Ore hoisted from the Ajax Shaft will be handled as out- <br />lined in Exhibit D of the Application for Permit. <br />The new waste rock from the C-7 decline will be placed <br />in a dump on and between two existing waste rock dumps. This area <br />has been indicated. on Exhibit C for further clarification. The <br />waste rock will be dumped from the bucket of a 2 yard LHD (Lodd- <br />Haul-Dump) unit until the decline reaches the point where an 8 yard <br />end-dump truck will be required. <br />The waste material deposited initially at the Carlton <br />Tunnel will be dumped from 36 cubic-foot side-dump granby-type mine <br />cars onto existing dump material. Later, waste rock will be dumped <br />C from the same cars along the edge of the existing dump into the area <br />now occupied by the existing county road. <br />There are no drainages to be affected by the dumping of <br />waste rock. <br />4. Drainage in the Cripple Creek-Victor Mining District <br />is not acid. Reference should be made to the NPDES Permit Compliance <br />Forms showing the PH of the Carlton Tunnel Drainage in the range of <br />7.0 to 7.5. <br />Further, reference should be made to USGS Professional <br />Paper No. 54 by Lindgren and Ransome, 1906: <br />"Origin of Ore from Alkaline Solutions"-Page 8 <br />"Alkaline Waters"-Page 217, 225 <br />i~ <br /> <br />.,_~ u04376 <br />
