This type of revegetation <br />will be of greater benefit to the rangeland and wildlife habitat <br />uses of the land and will provide better and more immediate soil <br />stabilization. <br />RECLAMATION TIMETABLE <br />Due to the small area involved and the underground nature of <br />the mine, constant use of the disturbed area is necessary and <br />reclamation cannot begin until all mining activity has ceased. <br />{Several key points in the Department of Energy (formerly the <br />Energy Research and Development Administration or E.R.D.A.) lease <br />have an effect on the reclamation plan. They are as follow: <br />1. Because of the possibility that waste dumps may contain what <br />could be in the future a marketable grade of ore, the major <br />portion of the dump cannot be removed from the lease block. <br />This stipulation also puts somewhat of a limit on the extent <br />of grading that can be done; that is, the dump cannot be <br />spread over a large area so as to make the material <br />irretrievable in the future. <br />2. Portals, adits, ventholes, and any other such features of the <br />mine cannot be permanently closed without the approval and <br />consent of the Department of Energy.
