3.1.11 Buildings and Structures
The State Historic Preservation Office has identified the abandoned railroad grade that runs
through the west side of the property as an area of potential historic significance and has
requested a survey of the site. The rails and ties have been removed from this area and the
property deeded to the owner. Attached is a copy of the deed. We are currently discussing
this with the State Historic Preservation Officer.
An existing hydropower conduit crosses the property from south to north adjacent to, and at
times under, the abandoned railroad grade/access road. This conduit does not cross the active
mining area, but falls within 200 feet of the limit of mining. Following this exhibit is a
statement by the conduit owner allowing the mining to occur within 200 feet of the structure.
There are no other structures located on the property that would be disturbed by either the
mining or the reclamation of the site.
E-4
