14. Air Permits (2.05.6, pg 124) -Records indicate that the Keenesburg Mine has had at
one time three different air permits for various activities (12WE438F -for the coal
mining, processing and storage operation, 84WE031 F -for the flyash disposal
operation, and 88WE294P -for the temporary operation of a portable coal crusher}.
Of these, onl}• the permit for flyash disposal is pertinent to the reclamation activities
now underway. It is proposed that [he remaining permits be canceled with the appro-
priatejurisdictional agencies.
APPENDICES
15. As with the "Table of Contents" (item 1, above) a review of the Appendices needs
to focus on elimination of all but [he most current and applicable items, directed to
reclamation of the site.
16. Emission Permits (Appendix "B'~ -see item 14. (above). Permits should be canceled
and removed/archived leaving only the Flyash Disposal authorisation in this section.
17. Historical Legal Description (C-1) -should be deleted/archived and legal descriptions
should be consolidated in one location.
18. Land Use Topographic Map and Well Locations (D-1) -would benefit from having the
currently existing and in use (for monitoring purposes) well locations identified.
Note: This has been done on the copy which is included.
19. Geologic Mapping (Appendix "F"), Drill Hole Logs (Appendix "G") and Drill Hole
Soils Analysis (Appendix "H") -all of these segments should be deleted/archived since
they are directly related to Operations/Production and there is no further plan for this
type of activity.
20. Groundwater Quality Tables (J-1) and Well Water Level Records (1-2) -could be
sorted to delete/archive all records for wells no longer in existence or planned for
"near-term" plugging and abandonment. Those wells remaining would essentially be
the present monitoring wells: FPW, DH-96, DH-i22, AMW-1, AMW-2 and SMW-2.
21. Sediment Pond Design Report and Drawings (K-3) -this appendix should be reviewed
to insure that the most recent data on the modified Sediment Pond #2 is included, and
that information no longer relevant is deleted archived.
Note: The new "as-built" drawings for Sediment Pond #2 are included in Appendix K-3
22. Surface Features Map (T'I-1), Mining Plan Maps (M-2), Isopach Coal Thickness
(M-3), Bottom of Coal Map (M-4), Typical Cross-Section (M-5) and Isopach
Overburden Thickness (M-6) - should all be deleted/archived since they support the
mining operations plan which is no longer applicable.
