-54-
• MS. BALDRIGE: That's all I have. If anybody has anymore questions?
MR. HOLDER She's not the road erosion person.
MR. MASSEY: Yes, she is.
MR. HOLDER: There was a point made that there would be considerable
erosion on the road as the plan indicates. Do you have a response to that,
Anne?
MS. BALDRIDGE: Yes, I do. And I'd like to discuss several issues. The
first being the study that Mr. Cohen mentioned was an eastern study that was
done in areas of much higher precipitation than you will ever see at this
site. Natural soil erosion at this site is high. The haul roads will be
constructed to minimze any erosion from that. Same of the haul road outflows
.will flow into sediment traps. In addition, the haul road out-slopes will be
. seeded with a temporary stand of vegetation to insure that they're stabilized
and if those measures prove ineffective, there will be some berming at the
base of the roads for -- if there's continued sediment problems.
MR. HOLDER: You have studied the short term high intensity storms as
well as long duration?
MS. BALDRIGE: We looked at a number of different storms at the site.
MR. BARRY: That wasn't precisely the question.
MS. BALDRIGE: I don't know the exact storms. Perhaps Mr. .lohnson can
help me with that.
MR. HOLDER: Was Mr. Johnson sworn earlier?
n
