GEC Minerals, Inc. expects to steadily increase production during
the period 1981 through 1985 from 150,000 tons to 350,000 tons
respectively. This buildup in production is also shown in Table
2.05-1, Annual Production Schedule.
GEC Minerals does not currently plan to have an underground mining
operation and therefore will not have any facilities associated
with an underground mine.
Mine Facilities. The mine facilities which GEC Minerals currently
uses and plans to use through 1985 include the following:
• Office
• Shop
• Truck Dump
• Belt Conveyors
• • Coal Stockpile Area
• Crusher
These facilities are located in the tipple area which are in
Section 24, Township 20, South, Range 70 West and are located on
the Existing Structures Map for the Tipple Area, Map No. 22.
The office is utilized for the admininstrative operations at the
mine. Accounting, payroll, coal sales, billing and general mine
supervision takes place in the office area. Maintenance including
welding, engine repairs and other similar activities are conducted
at the shop. In addition, spare parts for all equipment are also
located in the shop area. A truck dump is utilized prior to the
crusher to hold and feed coal onto the conveyor belt into the
crusher. Once the coal has been crushed it falls on the conveyor
which then distributes the coal to a waiting highway haulage truck
or to the coal stockpile. The stockpile is utilized to store coal
during times of low coal sales or to blend coals of different seams
• to enable the proper quality control constraints to be implemented.
2.05-9
