Reynolds Pit
DMG 112 Application
Exhibit E- Reclamation Plan
a) The north parcel that is to be mined to the full depth of the deposit will be reclaimed as
rangeland planted with grasses suitable for livestock grazing which is compatible with other
properties in the vicinity. The perimeter will be sloped at 3:1 (h:v) on the east, south and west
sides using a combination of cut and fill slope reduction and backfilling with overburden. The
floor will slope gently to the north and west to tie into the floor of the existing Fedler pazcel.
Topsoil will be spread over the slopes and floor using scrapers and dozers to provide growth
medium. The parcel south of the haul road will be reclaimed as cropland to restore it to its
current use. Reclamation in that area will require backfilling any gravel excavations with excess
overburden from the north pazcel and grading to the original contours. T7te haul mad will be
removed with scrapers and the material used as backfill on the slopes of the north parcel.
b) The post mining land use of the south gazcel returns it to its original use and the
reclamation of the north parcel as rangeland is compatible with many properties in the vicinity.
c) Description for meeting the requirements of Section 3.1.
3.1.1 The post mining land use was determined according to the wishes of the owners,
Eldon and Cornelia Reynolds.
3.1.2 We are not reclaiming substituted land.
3.1.3 Reclamation will be completed in a timely manner to comply with the Delta
County requirement of having no more than 20 acres of un-reclaimed disturbance
at any one time and final reclamation will be completed within five years of
completion of mining.
3.1.4 No public use of the land will be permitted.
3.1.5 Grading will create stable 3:1 slopes where high-walls had been and gently
sloping floors suitable for planting grass or use as cropland.
Backfilling will be done with materials from the site and compacted by the
equipment used to do the backfilling.
All grading on site will occur on nearly flat slopes except the high-walls, which
will be performed at times when erosion due to weather conditions will be
minimized. No high-walls will remain after reclamation.
Backfilling and grading will be performed as soon as practical after mining so that
no more than 800 feet of high-wall is preserri at any one time and no more than 20
acres of un-reclaimed disturbance will be present.
There will be no acid-forming or toxic materials mined on this site. Any refuse
will be properly disposed of.
There will be no drill or auger holes or shafts on this site.
There will be no slopes steeper than 3:1 and no lakes on site.
Slopes will allow normal use of farm equipment in all areas to be cultivated.
We do not intend to backfill inert material from outside the permit azea
Material handled on site will not be allowed to enter the irrigation drainage ditch
on the site. A Stormwater Dischazge Permit for Gravel Mines will be obtained
from the Colorado Department of Health.
No Pollutants will be dischazged to groundwater on this site.
