Reynolds Pit
DMG 112 Applicafion
Exhibit E- Reclamation Plan
3.1.6 This is a dry pit. There will be no disturbance to the prevailing hydrologic
balance. There aze no wetlands on this site. Irrigation water and irrigation waste
return water will be isolated from the operation with properly maintained ditches
and, if necessary, silt fencing.
3.1.7 We do not expect to encounter any groundwater on this site.
3.1.8 This site has been used as farmland for many years and the operation will not
impact wildlife anymore than normal farming operations would.
3.1.9 Topsoil will be removed and stockpiled north of the haul road and protected from
erosion by broadcasting with grass seed. Overburden not suitable for topsoil will
be stockpiled just north of the topsoil stockpile.
There is no significant woody vegetation on this site.
We do not expect to have to move the topsoil stockpiles until it is used in
reclamation.
Topsoil replaced on 3:1 slopes will be placed on gravel or gravelly overburden,
which should be sufficiently rough to avoid slippage.
The topsoil to be replaced has shown the ability to support vegetation in the past.
Topsoil will be replaced with scrapers and graded to ensure even placement.
There will be no vegetative piles on this site.
3.1.10 Vegetation on the north pazcel will be locally available dry land pastures mix that
is more diverse than the one recommended by the Natural Resources
Conservation Service.
The seed will be drilled between November and April after ripping any
compacted azeas. The 3:1 slopes will be mulched with straw and crimped into the
soil by light discing. Flatter slopes in the bottom of the pit can be irrigated.
The south parcel can be cultivated and planted by normal fazming methods for the
crop of the owner's choice.
Spraying according to an approved Delta County Weed Mitigation Plan will
control weeds.
3.1.11 There aze no buildings or structures on this site and there aze no structures
planned in wnjunction with this operation.
3.1.12 The operator will post the required sign at the entrance to the mine off of
Townsend Road.
The boundaries of the affected azea aze cleazly delineated by existing fences and
concrete irrigation ditches.
d) Topsoil will be removed to a depth of 6 to12 inches and stockpiled north of the haul road.
Overburden will then be removed and stockpiled next to the topsoil piles north of the haul
road. Topsoil stockpiles will be stabilized by broadcasting the seed mix listed in (fxii) at the
rate of 221bs per acre. Overburden will be accessible for backfilling and final grading as
needed. The topsoil will be spread after final grading of overburden.
