• presented as Attachment 9-2C to Tab 9, SMP C-008-81, included all of <br />former Mining Areas 4 and 5 (see Exhibit 12-2, Operations Plan, <br />submitted with Permit Revision No. 1 and Exhibit 9-1, Soil Types). <br />An Order 1-2 soil survey of the Scraper Pit was completed by Peabody <br />Coal Company in July, 1986. The Scraper Pit survey area is located <br />southeast of the Nucla Mine office in portions of the E 1/2 NE 1/4 <br />Section 36, T47N, R16W and the SW 1/4 NW 1/4 and NW 1/4 SW 1/4 Section <br />31, T47N, R15W. This survey information, presented as Attachment 9-4 to <br />Tab 9, SMP C-008-81, included all of Mining Areas 2 and 3 (see Exhibit <br />12-2, Operations Plan, and Exhibit 9-4, Soil Types and Topsoil Salvage <br />Depths). <br />An Order 1 soil survey on about 95 percent of the 607.2 acre Nucla East <br />study area was completed by ERT, Fort Collins, Colorado in June and <br />July, 1987. An Order 1 soil survey on the remaining 32 acres was <br />completed by Peabody Coal Company in March, 1988. This survey <br />• information, presented as Attachment 9-5 to Tab 9, SMP C-008-81, <br />includes the proposed Nucla East Mine permit area, the associated <br />disturbance area, and additional area for future mine expansion (see <br />Exhibit 12-3, Operations Plan - Nucla East; Exhibit 9-3, Soil Types and <br />Topsoil Salvage Depths; and Exhibit 9-6, Soil Types, Sartiple Locations, <br />and Topsoil Salvage Depths). <br />Historical topsoil balance information far Nucla Mine is summarized in <br />the Topsoil Management Plan section of Tab 21, Minesoil Reconstruction. <br />Current topsoil stockpile designations and locations for Nucla Mine are <br />shown on Exhibit 21-1, Topsoil Balance Plan, and discussed in Tab 21. <br />Proposed topsoil, subsoil, and suitable spoil replacement depths for the <br />life-of-mine operation at Nucla Mine are shown on Exhibit 21-2, Postmine <br />Soil Replacement Depths, and summarized in the Topsoil Management Plan <br />section of Tab 21. Historical (1979-1983) topsoil stockpile <br />designations and locations, discussed within Tab 9 and Attachments 9-1 <br />and 9-2, are still shown on Exhibit 9-2, Stripping Isopach and Topsoil <br />Stockpiles. <br /> <br />v Revised 04/11/88 <br />
